| 2010 Team Tryouts |
| Tryouts are open to everyone. We encourage anyone who is interested to come and try out. Our goal is to provide the best Junior Olympic volleyball experience for all athletes at a high level of competition. |

• When:
– Sunday, November 15th, 2009
– 3:00-4:30, ages: 12-15
– 4:45-6:15, ages: 16-18 and all boys
– Check in will begin 30 minutes prior to start of try-out
• Where:
– Monticello Middle School
• 800 E Broadway St
Monticello, MN 55362
• Registration:
– To register, please send an email to sbiggerstaff2@gmail.com or cbartolic@hotmail.com
including your name and age
– Cost is $10 if you register in advance, $15 if you register at the door
• Please note:
– Parents will not be allowed in the gym during tryouts, but MUST be present 30 minutes before tryouts are over.
– Teams will be chosen during tryouts
– If your daughter makes a team, a $400 nonrefundable down-payment must be presented that night to reserve your daughter’s spot on the team.
• Cost:
– 12-15: $1,000; 16-18: $1,400; boys: $300
– Cost includes: uniforms (two tops, two shorts, one full warm-up, one practice shirt, and a Heartland backpack (total retail value: $235).
– Fees also includes equipment, facility rental, tournament entry fees, coaches’ salaries, USAV and NCR registration fees, and administrative expenses. Hotel and travel costs are not included in the fee.

ABOUT HEARTLAND ROX SOUTH
• About Heartland Rox South
Heartland is a club for elite players that want to play volleyball competitively while also remaining committed to their other activities. Our goal is to provide the best Junior Olympic volleyball experience for all athletes at a high level of competition.
• Mission Statement
The Heartland Rox philosophy is to develop the athletic abilities of players and to promote teamwork
and a positive volleyball experience. While participating in a competitive environment, players will learn the value of work ethic, sportsmanship, communication and teamwork. They will learn skills that will suit them on the court as well as in all aspects of life. Our goal is to have players compete and be successful at a high level of volleyball competition, while still having fun. Heartland Rox desires to train players on an individual basis, not only to make the Heartland team a better team, but to make sure each player improves individually. We want to provide our players with the most positive experience possible. Players who have the commitment, attitude and desire to improve their volleyball skills will build their love and enjoyment of the game. Success will follow.
• Practice Information
– Teams generally practice once a week during the season and twice a week prior to the start of tournaments in January
– Practices will be held on Sundays and Wednesdays, 15/14's and 13/12's practice Mondays
– Practices are held in Monticello, at the Middle School or the High School
– Practices are approximately two hours in length.
• Individual Training Sessions
– In addition to team practices, time will be set aside each week to work with players individually on skills specific to their position so they return to their High School teams as better all around players
• Age Classifications:
– 18s: 9/1/91 or currently in 12th grade
– 17s: 9/1/92 or currently in 11th grade
– 16s: 9/1/93 or currently in 10th grade
– 15s: 9/1/94 or currently in 9th grade
– 14s: 9/1/95 or currently in 9th grade |
