2012 Heartland ROX Playdate Series
Information Sheet (please look over closely)

Welcome to another year of the Heartland ROX Playdate Series. We hope you will have a great experience, and that your team improves as the season goes on.

Listed below are a few items that hopefully will answer any questions you may have about Heartland ROX Playdate 2012 Series.

Coaches make sure your players and parents are aware of the rules.

1. Playdates will be held at either the Monticello High School Fieldhouse, or
Big Lake. High School. Site addresses can be found on the Schedules.

2. Your team requests will try to be met as much as possible. We cannot
guarantee they will all be met. You could be playing at all sites and times.

3. Due to numbers, we were forced to inter-mix some age groups. I have looked at
your responses and will make pools accordingly to the request as much as
    possible.

4. We will not be furnishing balls. We ask each team to have at least one playable
ball. Coaches will decide which ball to use.
Reminder for the 12’s we will be using the Lite Volleyball

5. GOOD SPORTSMANSHIP IS REQUIRED OF ALL; Yelling at members of the
officiating crew, talking poorly about other individuals, teams, or clubs, etc. will
     not be tolerated.

6. SCORER’S TABLE PROTOCOL AND FILLING OUT SCORE SHEETS; The players
need to be paying attention to the game. No cell  phones, food, or boyfriends at the
table. Score sheets need to be completely and correctly filled out at the bottom.

 7. BE ON TIME ; Teams need to be on time. Coaches need to make sure that
warm-ups, time-outs, and team meetings are on time. Otherwise, we run into
problems of being late, holding up teams, etc. Please remember that only the first
two warm ups are 10 minutes; the others are only 5 minutes, and time-outs are
     30 seconds.

8.  Reminder:  In case of bad weather:  If I cancel, I will call your team contact as
soon as I know. It could be Saturday night  or for sure no later than 5:30 a.m.
Sunday morning for the  A.M. wave. If your not sure, you can contact Wally Brown
     at (320) 360- 4996 Sunday morning.
If canceled your team will still be accessed $30 to cover cost and time that
was put in to have this Event.

9. CAMPS Make sure you know where you may have camps and where you cannot
have camps at the site you are playing. Please inform your parents and players of
these areas and that they understand what a camp is.
PLEASE ALWAYS CLEAN UP YOUR AREA BEFORE YOU LEAVING,

10. TEAMS MUST BRING THEIR OWN WARM-UP BALLS, FIRST AID SUPPLIES AND

       WHISTLES.

11. Only personal size cooler will be allowed.  We ask that your teams do not bring
crock pots, roasters, microwaves, or and electric appliance. Also no cases of any
      kind of beverage.

Format: Pools of four. It will be round robin play; no one will play anyone else more than two times. After the first two playdates we will match up teams in pools according to the results of the first two playdates.

*Warm-up Format
10 Minute warm up applies to the first 2 matches of the pool play each day and the first matches of bracket play. A 2-4-4 format will be used for the 10 minute warm up. The first two minutes will be for ball handling, followed by 4 minutes on the court for the serving team and then 4 minutes for the receiving team.5 minute warm up applies to all other matches. A 1-2-2 format will be used for the 5 minute warm up.
When teams are warming up, please have parents come out and block balls so they don't interfere with the other court's game at courts where this is a problem.

The team assigned to referee is responsible for starting all matches on time!
