Paul Meyer South 18 head coach has recently accepted the Head Volleyball Coach and Assistant professor of Physical Education at Waldorf College in Forest City Iowa. He is very excited about the move and the jump into the college ranks (and very nervous and a little scared). The hard part for him is leaving the area and the being away from all of the friends he has made over the years.
Waldorf is a small 4 year NAIA - its about a 3 1/2 hour drive from St. Cloud. It has recently (about 5 years ago) switched from a 2 year to a 4 year school. he graduated from there YEARS ago when it was still a 2 year school. He very much enjoyed his time there. There is also opportunities to be a multi-sport athlete (there are several volleyball players that play either softball or basketball)
Laurel Heggerness has officially made the St. Cloud squad next season
Dear Heartland Volleyball Family:
Thank you does not even begin to express our gratitude for all everyone did to help us after our House Fire on December 21st. To begin with I called Wally and Catie's Coach Leah to let them know what had happened and to order Catie a new Heartland warm-up. To our surprise it was ready and waiting for her at the first Playdate. That was so important to Catie to have her warm-up and look like the rest of her team. Thank you for making that happen.
In the weeks after the fire we were so overwhelmed with the tasks before us. When faced with trying to replace everything you own, build a house and still live day to day, go to school and work, well, we had to take it all a little bit at a time and try to rebuild our home and lives. Many times we felt like it was all too much and how were we ever going to get it done. Then when we were told about the raffle for Catie, we were speechless. Just when we felt like we can't get a grasp on rebuilding, we get your help.
Recently, with the first 60+ degree day, we felt like a new beginning, Spring was coming and things were getting better, feeling like we were getting a grasp on replacing our personal items. Then we go to look for all the shorts, tanks tops, sandals etc, and realize we don't have any. Since the fire happened in December, we never thought about getting shorts, sandals etc. The next day the Check from the Benefit arrived. The timing was perfect, just as I was again overwhelmed with sadness over losing everything in the Fire and the thought of having to figure out how to buy all the spring clothes we need, Heartland Volleyball was there to help. We will be using the $ to buy Clothes for Spring and summer.
We always knew being part of the Heartland Volleyball program for the last 2 years was important for Catie's growth as a player and a person. We always appreciated how Catie always felt part of something bigger. In our time of loss and need Heartland Volleyball showed us not only Catie but her entire family is part of the Heartland Family. Now realizing it was also important for our growth as well. This fire has been a trying, humbling and also and enlightening experience. It was amazing that players who really don't even know Catie personally still stepped up to help and make our lives more complete. That is what being part of such a wonderful organization is about.
Later this summer we will be having a Party/Open House and will be sure to let everyone know when the date is scheduled.
Thank you Again,
Anne, Gregg and Catie

With conditions
forcing the hand of Heartland Adidas in the Brainerd Lakes Area, it
is unfortunate that Heartland Adidas North will no longer be a force-to-be-reckoned-with'
in that part of central Minnesota. Heartland Adidas wishes to heartily
thank all of the players, coaches, and parents who have down through
the years made that club a success for their great support and dedication.
Regarding the
loss of the Brainerd Lakes' Heartland Adidas North, and as they say
about one door closing and another one opening, Heartland Adidas announces
a new club opening in the eastern part of the state. Basically, from
Highway 169 and east, Heartland Adidas East will draw volleyball players
and give them the skills, training and disciple once offered by the
former North club. The new colors for East will be navy and Vegas
gold. Heartland Adidas expects great things to happen out of that
club in the future.
